How Does Semaglutide Work?
Semaglutide is a compounded medication used for weight loss that aids in reducing hunger cravings and suppressing appetite. Semaglutide is administered in the form of an injection. Patients self-administer these injections after full education and instruction are provided at the initial consultation. We know that giving yourself a shot can sound scary, but we promise to give you the support and education required.
Treatment length, as well as dosage, varies from patient to patient and will be discussed in depth at your in office consultation.

How Do I Start My Weight Loss Journey?
We’re thrilled to be your partner in your journey to healthy and sustainable weight loss with Semaglutide injections. After you’ve scheduled your prescription weight loss consult, you’ll be emailed a pre-appointment screening questionnaire that must be filled out before your consultation. Elizabeth will then review your health history to determine if you are a good candidate* for Semaglutide. If your pre-appointment screening is without concern, you will then move on to the next step of an in person consultation. The initial consultation fee is $299. This includes a brief physical exam as well as an in depth discussion on Semaglutide, and instruction on self-administration of weight loss injections. Elizabeth is passionate about patient education and firmly believes in collaborating with her patients to create a customized treatment plan.
*Please keep in mind that “passing” the pre-appointment questionnaire does not ensure Semaglutide prescription approval, as an in-person consultation is required.
How Much is Semaglutide and How Long Does Treatment Last?
Medication cost is $300-$500 depending on patient dosage, which is individualized, patient to patient. On average, your first prescription will last around 2.5 months and is $300. Treatment length varies from patient to patient, however, Semaglutide for weight loss purposes is not typically a life-long medication. We require follow-up appointments every 8 weeks. These follow up appointments can be completed in-office or virtually, and are $100 per visit.

In addition to prescribing Semaglutide for our weight loss patients, Elizabeth also includes a supplementation protocol* that aids in weight loss as well as supports each patient’s body individually, throughout the weight loss process.

Elizabeth strongly encourages exercise as a part of your weight loss plan in conjunction with Semaglutitde. Patients find continued success with the incorporation of weight training exercises 2-3 times per week. This helps to maintain lean muscle as well as aids in weight loss. We also recommend a protein-focused diet. Exercise and diet recommendations are thoroughly discussed at the initial consultation, as well as reassessed at each follow-up visit.
We understand that prescription weight loss can be a significant financial commitment. At Illumatox, we believe in paying for what you need, and not for what you don’t. Many clinics require monthly weight loss “memberships”, which auto charge the patient. These fees are often $400-$600 per month. We know that this structure can be financially limiting. This is why we choose to bill for appointments and medication only, with no monthly charge required. Please keep in mind that we are an “out of pocket” clinic, meaning we do not accept or bill insurance. However, you may choose to submit your receipt to your insurance company, and they may or may not provide insurance reimbursement.*
